Fabulously retro tea towel cloth showing flowers and leaves from the taraire tree, which is indigenous to New Zealand. The 100% cotton fabric makes this a completely functional object, but the fresh green, white and buttercup yellow colours potentially elevate this tea towel to serve as wall art, a bistro table-sized tablecloth to brighten up your morning coffee, or sustainable giftwrap.
The pūriri moth is indigenous to New Zealand and is our largest winged insect, with females growing to a 15cm wingspan. They can live several years as caterpillars deep inside tree trunks, typically the pūriri forest tree, but just a few days as a moth.
Designed by freelance artist Tanya Wolfkamp, who lives on Waiheke Island, where she produces artworks of indigenous floral and fauna in a diverse range of styles. She loves to read and nuture her fantastic garden full of interesting plants and colourful flowers. She's hugely talented and is knowledgeable about heritage paint finishes to boot. We are big fans.
