Rātā is an indigenous New Zealand tree, recognisable for their gnarled trunks and prolific red flowers over summer and sharing the same genus as pohutukawa. All 10 rata species are currently categorised as threatened, due to the impact of the myrtle rust fungus.
Designed by freelance artist Tanya Wolfkamp, who lives on Waiheke Island, where she produces artworks of indigenous floral and fauna in a diverse range of styles. She loves to read and nuture her fantastic garden full of interesting plants and colourful flowers. She's hugely talented and is knowledgeable about heritage paint finishes to boot. We are big fans.
